Bitcoinin riskit sijoituskohteena
(2022)
Tämän opinnäytetyön tavoitteena on tutkia Bitcoinin riskejä sijoituskohteena. Tarkoitus oli tuottaa tietopaketti, jota aloitteleva kryptovaluuttasijoittaja voisi käyttää sijoituspäätöksensä tukena punnitessaan sijoituskohteen ...
Bitcoinin ja Salamaverkko-maksukanavaprotokollan skaalautuminen
(2019)
The purpose of this project was to examine a digital Bitcoin payment protocol operating on a peer-to-peer principle called Lightning Network by using document analysis. The goal of the thesis is to compare Bitcoin’s blockchain technology and payment protocol features in addition to examining the scalability of each method. The thesis was commissioned by Prasos Oy, a Bitcoin service operator. The theoretical framework covers payment protocol and scaling. Payment protocol indicates a program purposed solely for improving telecommunication connections. Scaling, applied to Bitcoin, means increasing the program’s capacity without adding to the resources. That is the essential goal of Lightning Network. The research shows that Lightning Network succeeds well in scaling, at least for the time being. Lightning Network is still a fresh innovation, and technology and the volume of users will vary in the future as Lightning Network becomes more common. The attributes of Lightning Network have a positive effect on blockchain-based technology as it reduces the number of transactions on a blockchain, thus reducing traffic. In the future, Lightning Network could alter the public opinion of Bitcoin by pushing virtual currency into everyday use. The thesis project succeeded in terms of goals and expectations. Additionally the author has learned a lot. The thesis consists of a smaller entirety of Lightning Network’s scaling and can be used as a basis for a larger project about the subject. This thesis functions as an easy-to-read guide for enthusiasts and beginners about Bitcoin and Lightning Network....
